Transocean said late Wednesday that its ultra-deepwater semi-submersible Cajun Express had been awarded a six-well contract from an unnamed operator in an undisclosed region at a dayrate of $495,000. The contract extends from last month until October 2015.
The rig had previously been operating for $600,000 per day while working for Cairn Energy in Morocco and Senegal. That contract expired in October of this year.
