Discussing the company’s fourth quarter results in a conference call on Monday, Transocean chief executive Steven Newman said the “dual activity dynamically-positioned” rig would be consistent with Shell newbuilds and was expected to be equipped with “industry-leading hoisting capacity, a second blow-out preventer system and be outfitted to accommodate a future upgrade to a 20,000 PSI blowout preventer.”
He did not disclose the name the other party in the talks, referring to them only as a “major integrated international oil company”.
