Offshore rig giant Transocean has secured about $2 billion worth of new contracts and extensions over the last month, including a three-year semi-submersible deal at a dayrate of $620,000.
In its fleet status report issued on Wednesday, the drilling contractor said its semisub Polar Pioneer, which is currently on charter with Statoil in the Norwegian North Sea, was bagged by an unidentified client for a three-year deal starting in May 2014.
