The independent hit the target reservoir at the 31/3-4 wildcat targeting the Mantra prospect in production licence 551 but came up dry, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Friday.
The well was designed to test the Late Jurassic reservoir rcks in the Sognefjord formation.
Secondary targets were to prove petroleum in the Paleocenic rocks and Krossfjord and Fensfjord formations and the Brent group.
