Oil companies active in the gas-rich North African nationwill have watched closely as Prime Minister David Cameron became the firstserving UK leader to visit Algeria since the country gained independence in1962.
Cameron met Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on Wednesdayand offered him a co-operation agreement with the UK on security. The pairreached an agreement which also covers border and aviation security as well asa joint action plan on trade, investment and education.
