Speaking to delegates at SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, Keiller argued that wages had risen so high even the financial sector was paying less to their incoming staff.
“We pay people more than any other industry. If we're gonna be successful for the second half of the North Sea we need to reduce our cost baseline, and quite frankly do our business with fewer people and pay them less,” he said.
