Solicitors acting for five residents whose lands are said to cover all sides of the perimeter of Celtique Energie’s permit have written to the South Downs National Park Authority and Energy Secretary Ed Davey to deny permission for drilling under their property.
The explorer applied to the parks authority in December to drill a vertical well and a 260-metre initial horizontal well on the site, which would not extend beyond its licence area.
