GC RieberShipping has secured a charter from UK contractor Ceona for the vessel on a five-year deal that is extendable by five years.
Ceona will in turn manage vessel under a deal with OdebrechtOil & Gas that will handle a 12-month service contract, extendable by ayear, signed for Polar Onyx by Brazilian state oil giant Petrobras.
The Brazilian explorer is to use the unit as a pipe-lay support vessel as part of its ramp-up in development of the country's prolific pre-salt resources.
