The Cayman Islands-headquartered contractor said its newbuild ultra-deepwater Tungsten Explorer drillship had picked up a three-well contract in south-east Asia, adding to an initial 90-day booking locked up last month.

Upstream previously reported the unit will be spudding a wildcat off Burma for consortium of Thailand's PTTEP, French major Total and JX NOEX of Japan.

The drillship was imminently due to sail away from South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering facility.
