The Colombian explorer's Mono Arana 2 probe encountered 244 feet measured depth of oil pay in two conventional sandstone reservoirs in the Tertiary Lisama formation, its junior partner Canacol Energy of Calgary said.
Canacol Energy chief executive Charle Gamba said the VMM2 licence area appraisal found “a thicker section of Basal Lisama sandstone oil pay than we encountered in the Mono Arana 1 discovery well without encountering any sign of bottom water”.
