The find made with the 6406/12-3 wildcat, drilled about 33 kilometres south-west of Statoil’s Njord field in the Halten terrace area, has uncovered estimated recoverable resources of between 50 million and 170 million barrels of oil equivalent, the operator said.
This figures includes about 38 million to 132 million barrels of oil resources and between 2 billion and 6 billion cubic metres of gas, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
