Weatherford’s staff were informed this week of the proposed reduction of 50 to 60 personnel at its Sandnes base on the country’s west coast, a union representative told news agency NTB.
He said the announcement followed “messages of concern over the company’s financial situation” from its head office in Switzerland.
The job cuts, due to be implemented by this summer, will account for about 10% of Weatherford’s total Sandnes-based workforce of 530 staff.
