Intetech director Liane Smith described to delegates at the 2013 Australasian Oil & Gas Conference, held in Perth on Thursday, the importance of well integrity management for saving money and reducing well shut-ins and workovers.
“I’ve spoken with operators internationally and I throw out these statistics every time and nobody shouts about them – that half of the wells that you’ve got shut-in are shut-in due to well integrity problems, and half the workovers that are carried out on wells are related to well integrity problems,” she said at the conference.
