Leaders from 25 states in and around the increasinglydangerous waters of the Bight of Benin agreed on Tuesday to set up aninter-regional coordinating centre in Cameroon to address the issue, TheGuardian Nigeria newspaper reported.
The heads of state were meeting in the Cameroonian capitalof Yaounde at a special summit on maritime safety and security following anescalation in assaults on assets this year and towards the end of last year.
