The Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum on Tuesday released its 2011-12 Mineral and Petroleum Statistics Digest – an in-depth overview of the state’s resources industry, which recorded a 4% increase in total mineral and petroleum sales to A$106 billion (US$111.89 billion) in the last financial year.
The Department’s director general Richard Sellers said in the foreword of the report that this sales achievement was remarkable “considering considering global economic conditions resulted in lower commodity prices for the period.”
