The 6407/1-7 probe, drilled by semi-submersible Borgland Dolphin in the Halten terrace area, struck a gross reservoir section of 16 metres with net pay of 12 metres in the targeted Lower Cretaceous Lange formation with “reservoir properties found to be better than expected”, Faroe Petroleum said in a statement.
A subsequent sidetrack, 6407/1-7A, uncovered seven metres of net pay in a 13-metre gross interval at the well drilled in Wintershall-operated production licence 475, effectively to appraise Rodriguez.
