YPF head Miguel Galuccio sat down in Montevideo with Raul Sendic of Uruguay's Ancap state energy firm as well as other officials, according to a company statement.
According to YPF, Ancap is interested in working with YPF for unconventional development in Argentina's potentially blockbuster Vaca Muerta shale play as well as joint development of mature field projects.
The goal is to "start evaluating different key opportunities for synergy," YPF said.
