Top energy company YPF, renationalised last year, will expand its unconventional exploration efforts in the San Jorge basin as well as the exploitation of mature reservoirs, Argentine media said.
Fernandez inaugurated the 914 well which will explore the D-129 reservoir about 30 kilometres from the city of Comodoro Rivadavia.
"We want to go for everything, conventional and unconventional," the Ambito Financiero newspaper quoted her as saying.
