Democratic Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, along with a handful of cosponsors, introduced a bill last week on his idea to settle the age-old quandary of consumers in agony over high gas prices and disgruntled with big oil profits.
In his estimation, the answer is a “Reasonable Profits Board” that may tax company profits by up to 100% if refined products and gasoline prices exceed an (unspecified) “reasonable” barometer.
