OGX initiated in October the drilling of the Fortaleza wildcat in Block BM-S-57 in a fresh attempt to gather more knowledge of the play and prove the existence of a new natural gas and condensate pole in the region.
The oil company is particularly interested in exploring the sandstone reservoirs of the Santonian section at Fortaleza, after previous drill-stem tests carried out last year at the Natal and Maceio prospects, both located in adjacent Block BM-S-59, yielded excellent results.
