The asset package includes 12 patents and associated intellectual property for a polymer that coats conventional sand and allows it to suspend in water.
Emerge subsidiary Superior Silica Sands believes the new product will not only allow operators to save money by using fewer chemicals in their fracturing recipes but also increase production in wells.
The technology will be marketed under the trade name SandMaxx.
