CHINA’S Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is diversifying into the fabrication of subsea equipment in a bid to enhance its competitiveness in international engineering, procurement, construction and installation tenders.
COOEC Special Equipment Company (COOEC SEC) is building subsea steel structures for a number of overseas projects, taking advantage of low fabrication and labour costs.
The company, which was founded by grouping COOEC’s engineering and fabrication workforces together, is set to focus on gas and subsea equipment such as natural gas processing units, gas compressors, air compressors, FPSO ballast systems, test production separators, chemical injection skid manifold boilers, jumpers, spools, slug catchers, subsea manifolds and platform end manifolds and terminals.
