The data gathered by the acoustic telemetry network allowed BP to monitor critical parameters, including downhole weight on the crossover tool and pressures and temperatures during the well’s completion.

XACT, which receives funding from the technology investment company BP Ventures, is working with BP’s Upstream Technology group to further develop and deploy the telemetry network. “We view this as a promising digital technology and are pleased to support its deployment and wider industry acceptance,” says Issam Dairanieh, managing director at BP Ventures.
