Harvey Gulf took delivery of the Harvey Energy, the first of six newbuild dual fuel offshore support vessels, early this year. But the Louisiana-based company had started putting together a more environmentally friendly fleet as early as 2009, with the order of three vessels carrying the ABS ENVIRO+ Green Passport notation.
Built with mostly recyclable materials, the STX SV300 vessels were designed to minimise their environmental impact from the moment they went to work to the day they would be retired and dismantled.
