It is only a matter of time before land seismic survey operations enter the era of the drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). There are some obvious, if not game-changing, applications, particularly in the growing cable-less data acquisition sector. The technology has already captured the lion’s share of the North American onshore market and could be destined for increased adoption around the world.
