The Goliat floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit left Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea in February for a two-month journey to Hammerfest, Norway, aboard the Dockwise Vanguard heavy-lift vessel. Following a series of tests, the floater will be towed 80 kilometres offshore to the Eni-operated Goliat field for hook-up and commissioning.
The Goliat unit is the North Sea’s third FPSO built to Sevan’s distinctive cylindrical design, after the Hummingbird Spirit and Voyageur Spirit units, both in the central UK sector.
