Over the last few years, Transocean has committed big money to new assets, to the tune of $6.1 billion. In 2012, the company ordered five ultra-deepwater Enhanced Enterprise Class drillships from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea, five Super B 400 Bigfoot Class jack-up drilling rigs from Keppel FELS in Singapore in 2013, and a pair of ultra-deepwater drillships from Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard last year.
