One drawback of traditional rod pump systems is the continuous rotation of parts, which can pose safety concerns. Oil services company Cameron cast around for an artificial lift solution that would efficiently pump reservoirs experiencing declining production, while also reducing risk to people who needed to service the units — and to protect roaming livestock, which might inadvertently wander into a dangerous spot.
