When GE crews finish the subsea stack currently in the factory, the company will have effectively worked through its entire order backlog for the units.
“We would love to have more volume in these factories to avoid rightsizing the business and all the impacts you see (associated with that),” says GE’s senior executive for drilling Chuck Chauviere.
Some of that work will come through retrofitting existing BOP units with new technology.
