At IJmuiden in the Amsterdam port area, pioneering manufacturer Airborne Oil & Gas has what it describes as the world’s first full-scale bonded thermoplastic composite pipe plant set up to produce flowlines, risers, downlines, hoses and jumpers for offshore use.
It can produce pipe sizes from 1 inch to 7 inch internal diameter. And as of June this year, it is able to do this in continuous lengths of at least 3000 metres per spool, and even longer for smaller diameters.
