Norway’s Sargas Power, which bought the Don Valley Power CCS project in Yorkshire from 2Co Energy last December after it failed to be shortlisted for the CCS competition, said earlier this summer it wants to press ahead with 2Co’s plans, sharing White Rose’s transport and storage.
Sargas said the project already has planning permissions and licences, and that a €180 million ($203 million) grant from the European Commission before it lost out in the first round UK scheme is still available.
