53 billion peso (US$233 million) Batangas-Manila (Batman 1) gas pipeline is facing further postponement as the Department of Energy has asked for more time to review technical aspects.

The National Economic Development Authority-Investment Coordination Committee agreed the pipeline in July, which would deliver gas from Shell’s Malampaya field and future LNG imports.

However, before the plan is forwarded for approval by the NEDA board, the DoE wants to satisfy itself about all aspects of the pipeline.
