Ouietly and unannounced, the pioneering life of field seismic (LoFS) project on the BP-operated Valhall field off Norway looks to have come to an end after more than a decade of successful operation. It is an end of an era of sorts. However, the industry has not given up on permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM), it just has not come up with an optimal solution.
