EMAS AMC envisioned the Lewek Constellation as a pipeline installation vessel that would not have to transit back to the spoolbase to load full reels of pipe.
Instead, a modified barge could take on reels at the spoolbase, travel to the Constellation near the installation site, exchange the full reels for spent reels, and return to the spoolbase to repeat the process as many times as needed.
