The updated new design will be capable of incorporating a 20,000-psi blowout preventer drilling system and features advanced dynamic positioning with an alternative mooring system for shallow-water operations in the Arctic. The vessel will host the latest drilling equipment and environmentally-friendly features that ensure best practices related to operational discharge and emissions from ships, based on the International Maritime Organisation’s International Code for Ships Operating in Polar Waters (Polar Code).
