THE Sapura Onix flexible pipelaying support vessel arrived in Brazilian waters earlier this month, as it prepares to begin its five-year contract with Petrobras.
A source told Upstream that the 550-tonne Sapura Onix PLSV is presently at Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro state undergoing some acceptance tests before it starts its charter in August.
It was finished in April at IHC Merwede’s Krimpen aan den Ijssel shipyard in the Netherlands.
