This DSV is specifically designed for saturation and air diving support work, carrying a complement of 150 people plus up to 24 divers in its saturation complex.
Both Seven Atlantic and the contractor’s sixth newbuild — ROV support vessel Normand Subsea — will see long-term service for Shell.
Steph McNeill, Subsea 7’s UK vice president says: “These vessels will service the long-term underwater services contract we have with Shell for inspection, repair and maintenance programmes, capital projects and decommissioning work across Shell’s European offshore fields and facilities.”
