Three international consortia are set to submit bid documents within days to Italy’s Eni as they battle to supply a multi-billion dollar floating liquefied natural gas vessel destined for use on the giant Coral South gas project off Mozambique.

Technical and commercial bids are set to be in Eni’s hands on 1 June, said sources, with the operator aiming to go straight to contract award rather than shortlisting two consortia and then embarking on protracted negotiations.
