Various mergers and divestments have left original operator Anadarko as essentially the sole producer at the facility.
The semisub itself, as well as the Independence Trail pipeline, is now majority owned by Genesis Energy, which bought Enterprise’s US Gulf portfolio earlier this year.
Genesis declined to comment on the project.
Decommissioning of I-Hub’s “watered out” subsea wells will continue for the next year or so, and most of the fields in the complex have been “fully abandoned”, says Anadarko’s Eastern Gulf general manager Danny Hart.
