The remaining partners in the White Rose carbon capture and storage project insist they are still in the £1 billion ($1.5 billion) UK CCS competition — despite the decision of power company Drax to pull out its investment, leaving Alstom and BOC with a funding gap and without a power-plant partner.
Drax cited the UK Government’s reduction of subsidies for renewable energy as a main reason for abandoning the scheme.
