"According to the operator Total, the recoverable reserves in the field are estimated to be 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent," said Statoil, which has a 13.33% stake in the field.
Dalia is expected to reach plateau production of 240,000 barrels per day of oil during the first half of 2007, Statoil said.
"This is the largest Angolan field in which we have a holding," said Roald Riise, Statoil's vice president for development and production in West Africa.
