Bass Strait Oil confirmed Monday both companies would be applying to Australia’s National Offshore Petroleum Titles Authority to surrender their interests after agreeing the forward work programme was uneconomical.
The duo were given an extension last year to allow more time to carry out technical work to mature prospects in the permit and secure a farm-in partner before being required to drill an exploration well.
