Petrobras is the operator of the BM-J-3 block in the Jequitinhonha basin with Norway's StatoilHydro as a minority partner and is the 100% owner of exploration rights for the BM-J-4 and BM-J-5 blocks in the same area, reported Reuters.
Petrobras eyes more pre-salt oil
Brazil's state-controlled oil company Petrobras may explore for deep-water oil reserves to the north of existing pre-salt prospects, possibly extending the range of the vast offshore deposits.
