The unit was initially forced to stop operating because of a breakage at the top drive main shaft. The company said a spare shaft was available and a replacement was made.
However, the unit then experienced an unrelated breakdown due to broken riser tensioner wires. Ocean Rig said the damaged wires have been replaced, but three to four additional days of off-hire is expected related to this incident.
