Southern has estimated that the earliest that its facilities in the Main Pass area could return to service is 18 June.
However, the company added that several factors, including the weather, could delay the return.
Due to poor weather, pipe laying work had already been delayed by about two weeks. Southern said it would post an updated schedule by 9 May.
El Paso spokesman Joe Hollier said about 350 million to 400 million cubic feet of daily gas output remained shut in on Southern's system due to storm damage and damage to other offshore producer platforms.
