In sector SS-AP2, Brazil’s Petrobras and BG have scooped the most expensive block in the round to date, offering 160 million reals ($71 million) for Santos basin block S-M-508.
Operator Petrobras will take a 60% stake in the block, while partner BG will carry 40%.
The consortia fought off a bid from Newfield Exploration and Amerada Hess.
Meanwhile, Petrobras won 100% in Santos block S-M-405 with an offer of 53.4
