Origin revealed Wednesday Tri-Star had served APLNG with a statement of claim in relation to a 2002 sale and purchase deed.
Origin said the statement of claim did not differ from the one Tri-Star filed with the Supreme Court of Queensland last year but was not served on APLNG until this week.
Tri-Star is claiming it has the right to revert to a 45% interest holder in more than 60 tenements and tenement applications spread across the Bowen, Surat and Galilee basins which were farmed out to Oil Company of Australia, now APLNG, in 2002.
