The Fletcher-1 well is located in Block WA-191-P in the Carnarvon Basin, just 15 kilometres east of Santos' Mutineer-Exeter oil production facilities.
Fletcher-1 is expected to take 13 days to reach total depth of 3000 metres, and is targeting oil in a large structural closure in Cretaceous aged sandstones, said partner Tap Oil, which gives the well pre-drill potential of 20 million barrels.
