Salamander said the L26/50 acreage is adjacent to its operated Savannakhet production sharing contract.
The company said Block L15/50 lies to the west of the Nam Phong Power Plant in north-east Thailand. The block contains gas discovery Dao Ruang.
Meanwhile, Salamander said it is currently drilling its Dong Mun-3 well in Thai Block L27/43 at a subsea depth of 2021 metres. Wireline logs are being run before the well will be cased and then drilling will begin into the primary reservoir target.
