The contract award confirms an Upstream Hardcopy story from June last year, where Samsung was said to be heading for victory in the contract race. According to project schedule, Samsung will deliver the hull in January 2010.
The contract is subject to Norwegian government approval of a plan for development of operation of the Skarv field.
The vessel will carry a total weight of 60.530
